There has been some exciting news around the band hall at Lorenzo I.S.D. The band director, Mr. Beach, went to a convention in San Antonio and came up with a device that will improve the student’s playing abilities. They have been using this technology for about two weeks. It is a microphone type instrument that connects to the computer. It records and tests the notes that are played by the band. Mr. Beach insists that the band is playing better as a result of this technologically advanced machine.
Cheryl Birdwell is our last featured new teacher at Lorenzo I.S.D. Mrs. Birdwell is a familiar face. She retired at the end of 2007 and spent last year working in Lubbock. She is rejoining us this year to teach high school English. She loves reality T.V. shows like “Big Brother” and “Survivor”. Her favorite food is Mexican.
This week’s junior high game was rescheduled for Thursday, January, 29. We will have more for you on that game next week.
