Thank you for visiting our website; home of the Hornets and Lady Hornets.  We are extremely proud of our school, community and staff.


We are proud to introduce our new superintendent. 


Mrs. Kayla Morrison – Lorenzo ISD Superintendent


             Mrs. Morrison started working in Lorenzo as superintendent on March 1, 2018 finishing out the 2017-18 school year.  She comes to Lorenzo ISD with 33 years of experience:  3 years teaching/coaching in Klein ISD in the Houston area, 6 years teaching/coaching at Lubbock-Cooper ISD and 24 years teaching and administration at Roosevelt ISD.  She retired in 2016 from Roosevelt and came out of retirement to work for Lorenzo ISD in 2018.  Mrs. Morrison’s administration experience includes: Assistant Principal for Secondary, Junior High Principal and Assistant Superintendent for her last six years.


            Mrs. Morrison graduated from Lubbock-Cooper High School in 1979 and went on to Texas Tech where she was a member of the Women’s Track Team for 3 years.  She graduated from Texas Tech in 1983 and then attended Wayland Baptist and Texas Tech for principal certification, superintendent certification and a Master’s degree from Tech in 2003. 


            Mrs. Morrison is extremely excited about being the superintendent at Lorenzo ISD and looks forward to the opportunity to watch all students acquire a quality education in a safe, nurturing and positive environment.  She has a vision and goal to make sure that the environment at LISD will be the same for all students and that all students will have the opportunity to thrive and grow and continue on to a post-secondary education that will them all to be successful.
