by Lorenzo High School Newspaper Class
September 10, 2008
On Tuesday, September 2, Lorenzo I.S.D. provided a back to school pool party at the Lorenzo Country Club for the entire school. The party was well attended! Here is what some of the quests had to say.
Annie Mason and Amber Moreno were two of the Lorenzo students that participated in the back to school bash. When interviewed they said that it was cold, but they had fun anyway. Marina Trevino said, “It felt good because our school needs to be more involved with the students.” She hung out with the twins (Chrisanta and Chrisalda), Sabastain, Ethan, Gage, Josh, Alex, and Jalen. She had fun at the party!!! Sabastian Garcia said that the pool party was fun even though he did not swim. He also said the food was good. Omar Diaz commented that the swimming pool party was great, but the water was freezing. Johnny Ramos also attended that pool party. Johnny replied, “That party was AWESOME!!” He hung out with Day Day, Dylan, and Alex. Johnny. He had a great time and wishes our school can have more parties like that one. Dada Jackson went to the pool party with his sister. He stated that if was a lot of fun!!! He hung out with Sabastian Garcia, ate hot dogs, and swam.
There were also several teachers at the party. Mrs. Martinez said, “My favorite part was the hotdogs, and the tea was really good.” She hung out with Dorothy Mendoza, her sons, and lovable husband. She thought it was really cool. Coach Birdwell commented he had fun at the free party, and that it seemed like all the kids were having fun too. He liked all the food. He didn’t swim, but he had fun talking to Brad and Bryan Aycock, Ruben Garcia and Karla Isbell. Mrs. Birdwell said the things she enjoyed most about the bash were visiting with other teachers there and the PTA meeting. I asked her if she would recommend another back to school bash next year, and she replied, “Of course! Maybe the weather will be warmer next year.” The school board and Mr. Van Hoose were the people who threw the party. He said that they were proud to throw the swimming party and that everyone was on there best behavior.
We’ll be back with you next week with our next featured teacher.
