1st Grade Teacher

 

Lorenzo Elementary School is looking for a fully Texas-certified elementary teacher with a passion for teaching young children.  Our campus offers an excellent culture, supportive staff, small class sizes, and an environment that allows professional educators to focus on teaching reading, math, science, and social studies.

We are seeking applicants who are skilled in phonics, small and whole group instruction, proficient in technology, and have completed the Texas Reading Academy, or can complete the training soon.  A confident teacher with experience in planning lessons aligned to the TEKS, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to establish efficient routines and procedures, build positive relationships with students and their families, and engage students in high-quality learning is our ideal candidate.  Familiarity with TPRI, and Teks Resource System is a plus.

Applicants will be able to collaborate with campus teachers and support staff to identify academic strengths and weaknesses and work collaboratively to push students toward meeting their academic potential.

Lorenzo ISD is just 15 minutes from Loop 289.

Assistant Coach

 

Lorenzo ISD is looking for an assistant coach. Duties will include football, basketball, and track

Attributes / Skills: 

Energetic, charismatic, creative, extremely flexible, responsible, able to lead small group projects, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and passionate about reading.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

  • Classroom teaching assignment: Electives and/or JH Social Studies
  • Be student-centered, creative with instruction, and know-how to plan and implement effective hands-on lessons;
  • Work as a member of the Lorenzo High School and LISD team to ensure the purposeful implementation of the TEKS with a primary focus on student success;
  • Work with students at varying skill levels challenging them all; and
  • Take on extra duties as needed/assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Texas State Certification, or enrolled in an alternative certification program
  • Hold a current CDL, or must be willing to obtain

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accrediated university
  • Texas State Certification in ELA/Generalist in the appropriate grade level (6-8)
  • ESL Certified, or willing to become certified
